Room XXIV occupies what was originally the Sala dell'Albergo of the Scuola Grande della Carità, where the confraternity's most distinguished members gathered and its most important documents and relics were kept. The wall leading to what is now Room XXIII was originally closed and featured an altar displaying the altarpiece by Antonio Vivarini and Giovanni d'Alemagna, now positioned on the right-hand wall between the two windows. The opening connecting the two rooms was created during the nineteenth-century renovations carried out by Giannantonio Selva.
The gilded and polychrome ceiling, restored between 2011 and 2012 thanks to the support of Save Venice, is one of the most important in Venice, as it is the only surviving figurative fifteenth-century ceiling in the city.
On the wall leading to Room I hangs Titian's Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple, painted specifically for this space, together with two teleri by Giampietro Silvio and Gerolamo Dente depicting episodes from the life of the Virgin.
