Hall 3

The hall brings together seventeenth-century works that, taken together, give some idea of what private Venetian collections were like at the time and suggest, along the diagonal wall, how these might have been displayed in a seventeenth-century Venetian palazzo. The paintings selected also exemplify the work of great non-Venetian artists who lived in Venice in the 1620s and 1630s and who substantially renewed the local culture, which was still predominantly late-Mannerist. These artists include Carlo Saraceni, Domenico Fetti, Johann Liss, Bernardo Strozzi, and Nicolas Regnier.
