Pietro Bellotti and 17th-century painting in Venice opens a window onto the Baroque century from a Venetian perspective: between the lagoon's response to the Counter-Reformation and the nascent scientific method, visitors will gain an understanding of Bellotti's stylistic and iconographic choices, his search for a unique style and rare subjects, attempting to unravel some of the enigmas that seem to populate his work. The HISTORY OF COLOR
Lower and upper secondary schools
Color, the defining feature of Venetian art, is observed and interpreted not as a simple constituent element but as a tool to reconstruct the history of color itself from a symbolic, technical, commercial and economic point of view. By mixing all this information, one gets to read the works through one more critical tool, understanding the evolution of the painting style, the manners and techniques of the different workshops, investigating geographical, economic and religious scenarios.

THE ARTWORKS TELL
Lower and upper secondary schools
We turn students into art critics by tackling with them a reading of the artwork through compositional and formal analysis, to come to understand together the function of the image in different historical periods. In a particular period of history, we take note of various topics that come up repeatedly. By encouraging students to consider the role of their bodies and emotions, we gain insight into the reasons behind these recurring themes, while also paying attention to the details.
